Candlelight Sunset

at Great Salt Lake, Utah

I took these pictures of a candlelight sunset at Great Salt Lake Utah in December 2015 as the first storm of the 2015-2016 winter season was working to roll out.  I call it a candlelight sunset because as the sun set, the combination of natural elements including moisture, temperature, the storm moving out, etc. made the sun appear to take on a candle like image in the sky.  The flying ducks and geese with marsh background really made an amazing experience.  I also enjoyed when the angle of the sunset was just right for reflecting in the random unfrozen pools of water between where I was and the sunset.  Clouds continued to hug the mountains in all directions in the distance and tiny light snow crystals sparkled lightly in the air as the remaining moisture from the clouds fell from the sky after the clouds passing.  The feeling could only be described for me as a candlelight sunset at Great Salt Lake Utah.

Below are pics of the full process of the candlelight sunset at Great Salt Lake Utah from the west shores of the lake.
